INSURANCE ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
GENERAL
• Responsibility for the management of a portfolio of captive and commercial (Re)insurance companies
and accounts within a segregated accounts company
• Responsibility for producing accurate underwriting and company secretarial information on a timely
basis to enable the client Boards and controllers to make informed decisions
• Liaising with the parent company, directors, service providers etc. in respect of the above
• Advising senior management of issues of significance in respect of the above
SPECIFIC
INSURANCE
• Policy administration and documentation
• Claims administration including reporting and recording, monitoring of policy limits and aggregates
where applicable
• Liaison with insurance and reinsurance brokers as required
• Monitoring payments on account and reinsurance recoveries where applicable
• Timely processing of premium and claims bordereaux
• Monitoring of claims, escrow accounts and LOCs/STAs where applicable
• Supporting underwriting decisions, including renewals and new business, in conjunction with Directors
• Perform quantitative underwriting analysis, including risk gap assessments, loss ratios, capital
adequacy and aggregate exposure considerations
• Advising the GFSC of material changes to business plans
• Undertake qualitative assessments of policy wordings, scheme agreements, reinsurance treaties and
related insurance documentation
• Accounting for premiums
• Agreeing reserving methodology
• Undertake claims audits of fronting insurers/claims handlers as required
• Prepare underwriting-related reporting and management information for committees and boards, as
required

• Act as a core member of Howden Captive Services (Guernsey) Limited’s internal Underwriting
Committee, supporting its effective operation in accordance with approved terms of reference. This
includes participating in underwriting reviews and ensuring submissions are complete, appropriately
risk‑assessed and supported by relevant documentation.
• Provide assistance and technical support to the Howden Captive Services (Guernsey) Limited’s
Underwriting Officer as and when required
COMPANY SECRETARIAL
• Performing relevant company secretarial functions including occasionally taking and producing
minutes of meetings
• Ensuring minutes are produced and circulated within seven days of the meeting
• Produce action points immediately after minutes are produced and add to “To Do Lists”
• Actioning matters arising
• Arranging AGMs, where applicable
• Scheduling of key actions
• Statutory Filings:
o Tax returns
o Assisting with the GFSC Annual Return
BOARD MEETINGS
• Co-ordination of board meetings
• Producing board packs to agreed standards and timing (7 days prior to meeting)
• Attending meetings and leading discussions as necessary
• Entertaining clients, as required
o Checking client travel arrangements
o Booking boardrooms
o Overnight arrangements (Dinner, taxis, hotels etc.)
o Arranging in‑house lunches or booking restaurants
• Maintaining contact with local directors and keeping them advised of developments with clients
TRAINING
• Undertaking appropriate and relevant training and development
• Contribute to underwriting training, knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within
the wider organisation

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintaining an ongoing relationship with the client
• Socialising with clients wherever appropriate
• Understanding the client’s business and industry
This role reports directly to a Client Service Director / Team Leader
REQUIREMENTS AND REWARDS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• ACII (Full Qualification)
• A minimum of three years’ captive insurance experience
• Credible communicator with the gravitas to engage boards, senior stakeholders, and complex client
groups confidently
SALARY AND BONUS
Basic salary: £65,000 per annum.
The Candidate will also be eligible to participate in the Howden Discretionary (non-contractual) Bonus
Scheme. This scheme is based on factors that include achievement of agreed company and personal
objectives
